What would a trip for Bill and Andrea be like without a little mishap….

Atlanta to Heathrow went without a hitch complete with full sleeper compartments, good wine, less than average dinner and a great movie selection. We both settled in for the night and got about 4 hours sleep. The real fun started in passport control. As we were unloading everything we owned into the security checkpoint bins Bill said to me.. hey.. where’s my iPad? My reply was a little less than polite as we scrambled to find his iPad case. So you think ..well.. losing an iPad is not such a big deal, but he had all the chargers for his device, plugs, cords, extra chargers, AirPods, etc in his iPad bag as well as his iPad. We scrambled for a minute or two and  I remembered the “Find MY” feature on our iPhones. We quickly activated it and discovered his iPad sitting on the plane which was 3/10 of a mile away (it was a long walk!) this prompted  an escort by security down to the Virgin Airways customer service desk where they basically said there wasn’t enough employees to look for it and when they did find it getting it to us was another story. But, we waited patiently while they said they would work on it. TWO hours later we were told to meet Tracy by the juice machine in terminal 3 and she would have the iPad. Well WAALAA she did. After many thank yous and “how the heck did this happen” we promptly went to the Sky Club, checked our backpacks and headed out on the express train to London. We enjoyed some quick sightseeing, a walk on Abbey Road and secured a Hard Rock pin for me and got to enjoy some of the fanfare of the Queens Platinum Jubliee! Our bartender was so excited that I was a pin collector  that he bought me a pin! Made it back to the Sky Club, enjoyed a nice hot shower and a change of clothes and now awaiting our flight to Israel. Great.. well kinda.. first day!

  6. Paul here! Hopefully, the iPad experience will be the least of your "harrowing" experiences. Enjoy your trip as much as we are enjoying your blog and your photos!
